So I finally pulled the trigger and brewed my own beer. I have been talking about this forever and I did my research to find the best equipment for my novice beer making needs and made the purchase. Initially all did not go well with the first batch and I ended up pouring it down the drain. The second one was magnificent. I will post my equipment and videos soon when I have my next brewing day. I plan to film the whole process and share with everyone.
This beer I made is an Octoberfest and it turned out awesome. It has a full bodied flavor with an almost fruity aftertaste that resonates in your mouth and you can’t wait for the next sip. I know this is not the season for this type of beer, but I say why not? A good beer should be enjoyed anytime of the year. I spent 4 years in Germany and I was there for work this summer and enjoyed a many libations. I gained a fondness and respect for German beers during my tour and it turned me into a real beer snob. No offense to traditional American beers, but in my personal opinion, they cannot compare. I do however enjoy American craft beers. Colorado is known for their many varieties of delicious craft beers which I enjoy until work to build my own stock.
I have already purchased two more beer malt kits; a bourbon porter and a hefeweizen. Like I mentioned earlier, I will be filming the process and along with what equipment I use to make these delicious beers. Prost!
