We purchased a brisket and I decided I wanted to come up with one of those super popular, here is an amazingly easy recipe that YOU can make in only 5 ingredients type of thing. SO I decided to go from an old recipe my mother-in-law gave me as inspiration (the woman doesn’t cook but man her brisket is AMAZING when she does). We went to Whole Foods and I grabbed a brown gravy mix, a mushroom gravy mix and a container of fresh mushrooms. My mushrooms where whole but trust me, either buy them sliced or slice them because it is easier.
Take the brisket and put it in the bottom of the slow cooker, fat trimmed side up. Take the mushrooms and put it on top of the brisket and then empty both of the packet mixes onto to mushrooms and brisket. Then because I am obsessed with the Mississippi Roast, I then placed half a stick of butter on top, put the lid on the slow cooker and let it cook on low for 8 hours. once the brisket was ready, we then shredded it and served it on brioche rolls. This was super simple and pretty tasty and nicely tender.
Now go get you a brisket and make it in the slow cooker, I think you will be glad you did!
