Chili (With Beans)

Ingredients:

Ground Beef (2 pounds)
2
Garlic (2 cloves)
Tomato sauce (Can)
8 Ounces
Chili Powder
2 Tablespoons
Cumin
1 Teaspoons
Oregano
1 Teaspoons
Salt
1 Teaspoons
Pepper
1 Teaspoons
Pinto Beans (can)
15 Ounces
Kidney Beans (can)
15 Ounces
Half a large onion chopped
Shredded cheddar, Chopped Onions, Lime wedges, Sour Cream, (to dress it up how you like)

I really love this recipe. The thing that makes this recipe really great is that it is an amazing base.  It isn’t crazy spicy it just has a good base flavor and you can add to it and make it your own.  This recipe comes from The Pioneer Woman you can see the original recipe here http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/simple-perfect-chili-recipe.html

 

We have added chopped onion while the ground beef is cooking.  We also add in red pepper flakes, pepper, and salt.

 

After the ground beef is cooked and drained, we then add all of the spices and the cans of beans (drained and rinsed) plus a cup and a half of water.  Stir occasionally and the chili should be ready to eat in about an hour.  You can add things like lime juice, sour cream, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, the sky is the limit.   If you are wanting something super yummy for fall…give this one a try.  It is better than any mix that I have ever tried and you will know everything that you are putting in the recipe.
